A 14-day, city-wide celebration of Toronto's incomparable diversity of spirit bursting with delicious culinary experiences, a hot blaze of unique free entertainment and a showcase of our vibrant arts scene. For two weeks we focus the spotlight on Toronto's incredible wealth of creative and talented performers, this city's diverse hospitality industry and fantastic world-class attractions.

Come and visit the biggest winter carnival in the world in the heart of old Quebec.

Quebec City the world's largest winter carinival - the entire city of Quebec celebrates the world's largest winter carnival with the giant snowman Bonhomme Carnaval and his prankster minions the Knuks. The event's number one celebrity, Bonhomme plays a central role in all Carnival activities.

The main Carnival attractions are located in the heart of Old Québec and draw nearly 1,000,000 visitors over 17 consecutive days every year. Be sure to sport the traditional iconic ceinture fléchée or "arrow sash." You can also watch or be part of the bathing-suit snow dive, a canoe race across the St. Lawrence, shimmering night parades and fireworks, and an international snow-sculpture competition and more.

The snow bath, night parades, slide runs, giant foot ball game, concerts, snow sculptures, horse-drawn sleigh or dogsled rides, Ice Tower and skating are among the many activities offered during this year's Carnival.


TORONTO CAVALADE OF LIGHTS - November/December










The annual Cavalcade of Lights sets Toronto aglow with a month-long calendar of spellbinding events, sparkling lighting displays and one-of-a-kind tour of Toronto's picturesque neighborhoods.

Building on decades of holiday tradition in Toronto, audiences are invited to experience the Cavalcade of Lights First Lighting Celebration in the heart of the city at Nathan Phillips Square. This event marks the premiere illumination of the Cavalcade of Lights display, which includes the radiance of 100,000 lights and the city's official Christmas Tree. Live music fills revellers with the spirit of the season and a vivid fireworks display illuminates Toronto City Hall.

The entire city is marking the season with celebrations and lighting displays throughout the Cavalcade of Lights event calendar. Watch for more details on citywide events and exciting new illuminated exhibits.


SKIING & SNOW BOARDING - Around the Toronto area










Blue Mountain is the best known ski area in Ontario and just a 2 hours from Toronto. There are also many other choices in the area, Glen Eden outside of Milton is almost in the city, you can be on the slopes in less that a half hour.


ICE HOCKEY - See the home team of Toronto, the famous Maples Leafs!










For sports fans see a professional icehockey team (The Maple Leafs) at the Air Canada Centre, Canada's sporting passion!

You can also visit the "Hockey Hall of Fame" one of Toronto's prime tourist attractions. The new $35 million facility comprises 57,000 square feet, including 10,000 square feet in the magnificently restored Bank of Montreal building located on the corner of Yonge and Front Streets.


DOGSLEDDING ADVENTURES - 2 hours North of Toronto










Want a new adventure, try this out, a day with a dogsledding team. Enjoy one-hour tours, half-day tours, full day tours and many other options. You'll get the basics of dogsledding, enjoy dogsledding from the basket of the sled, novices are welcome, as you will be given complete instructions on rudimentary dogsledding skills.


SNOWMOBILING - within 2 hours of Toronto










Looking for the ultimate in snowmobiling adventure? Then you have to snowmobile in the Haliburton Highlands. The Haliburton County Snowmobile Association is the world's largest snowmobile club. It recently partnered with other area clubs to create more than 3,200km of groomed snowmobiling trails - all under one trail pass.


CROSS COUNTRY SKIING & SNOW SHOEING - within 1 hour of Toronto










Ontario's biggest and best Nordic ski trail system. The shapes and colours of the dynamic scenery constantly change from sunrise to sunset over the 100 km of groomed classic and skating trails. With a large group or with friends and family the Haliburton Highlands will meet your needs for a day, a weekend, a week or more of nordic skiing.

Snowshoeing : capture the winter magic of the Haliburton Highlands by treading lightly through the deep winter snow. Snowshoeing is a favorite winter activity in the Highlands. You can readily spot and identify trails of deer, moose, fox and other animals as you tour your way through trails you may have hiked in the summer.
